World-class Learning for Elementary Students Grades K–5
Spring Creek Elementary School, a neighborhood school serving the east side of Northfield, is a K–5 public school serving approximately 450 students. Spring Creek students and staff benefit from a strong Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) and countless volunteer hours donated by St. Olaf College and Carleton College students, Northfield High School students, retired teachers and the parent community.
°Õ³ó±ðÌýstaff is intensely dedicated to offering a high quality, well-rounded education that strives to meet the specific needs of each student. We focus on empowering our students in their learning and building a solid foundation for their educational journeys.
Learning in Nature
The Spring Creek Nature area and prairie is a 5.5-acre nature preserve used for environmental education. The natural lands feature a wide variety of wildlife, trees, shrubs and plants native to Minnesota. Exposing students to nature:
- Encourages movement and exploration
- Develops environmental awareness and knowledge
- Stimulates creativity
- Improves observation, data collection and problem-solving skills
- Boosts intellectual, social, emotional and physical well-being
Academic Opportunities
We offer a comprehensive core curriculum that includes a Spanish immersion option through our °ä´Ç³¾±è²¹Ã±±ð°ù´Ç²õ program. Educational specialists provide student experiences in:
