Community Services has many helpful and fun opportunities during October and early November — for all ages.
Learn how to save a pet’s life and minimize trauma while waiting for veterinary care during an emergency with Pet First Aid. Properly applied first aid can not only save a pet’s life, but also reduce recovery time and be the difference between temporary and lifelong disability. Class is offered from 7 to 9 p.m on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the Northfield Community Resource Center for $14 per person.
Worried about extra calories during the upcoming holidays? Register for Kuchen und Torten before this delicious opportunity passes. Bake authentic German recipes, with a twist, using healthy and organic ingredients. Class will be held on Thursdays, Nov. 1 and 8, from 6 to 8:30 p.m at the Northfield Middle School and is $44.
Dance away calories with couples classes for beginning ballroom, country western and basic country western line dancing. Classes run from 6 to 9 p.m. on Mondays, Oct. 22 through Nov. 12, in the Northfield Middle School Auxiliary Gym. Classes cost $59 per couple.
Have a rootin,’ tootin’ good time at Reading Rodeo – a Western-themed evening of fun filled with literacy activities for children ages birth through 5 years. The event takes place on Thursday, Nov. 15, in the NCRC Preschool Room from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for the first child and $3 for each additional child.
